Cindy Fahrenbruch
Owner / Certified Kitchen Designer
Certified Kitchen Designer and owner of Artistic Cabinetry, Cindy Fahrenbruch knows a little something about designing gorgeous, functional spaces. With close to 30 years of experience, Cindy has developed a keen eye and elevated her design and architectural skills to an art form. Looking beyond the obvious horizontal and vertical lines of a room, Cindy sees intricate angles and unique details. Like a sculptor coaxing a beautiful piece of art out of a slab of marble, the rooms Cindy designs are not bland, carbon copy basic designs. Instead, Cindy takes the time to customize even the smallest details to meet her clients’ personal tastes and specifications. A room created by Artistic Cabinetry is not just a room–it is a room created to be uniquely you.
How did Cindy get to be an award-winning designer? Just like her work, it’s all in the details:
- 1978 – Graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a major in Interior Design and a focus on Architecture.
- 1978 – Began career working as a kitchen designer at Anderson Kitchens in Kearney, Nebraska.
- 1985 – Opened Artistic Image. This business professionally matted and framed pictures as well supplying a local business “Betsy’s Bobbins” with customized wood products.
- 1995 – Wanting to get back to her designing passion, Cindy renamed Artistic Image to Artistic Cabinetry and became a dealer for Crystal, a custom cabinet company.
- 1996 – Became a Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) through the National Kitchen and Bath Association. A certification bestowed only on the best designers who pass rigorous written and drawing exams, all NKBA Certified Kitchen Designers must participate in ongoing professional development, keep up with the latest technologies and products and adhere to a code of Professional Conduct.
- 2001 – Began working for Designer Craft Woodworking in Kearney, Nebraska, shortly after arriving she managed the Residential Design portion of the business.
- 2010 – Decided to take the leap and launch Artistic Cabinetry as a full-time business.
- 2010 – Won the NKBA Kansas/Nebraska Chapter’s prestigious “Best Ever” contest award for one of her recent remodels. Click HERE to see the full project and photos.
- 2013 and beyond – Designing a spectacular space just for you.
Kari Mitchell
Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer
Design has always been Kari’s passion and our team enjoys working with such a talented and detail-driven artist. In 2009, Kari graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a bachelors degree in Interior Design. Her internship and work experience have allowed Kari to learn about the industry and in the spring of 2013 she received her National Kitchen and Bath Association Accreditation of AKBD (Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer) Certification. We were excited to welcome her to the team in October 2013 and will be staffing the showroom located in Task Lighting in Kearney.
Here’s why Kari said she loves working at Artistic Cabinetry: “I love that I get to put both my mind and my heart to work with every project … Every client has their own story of who they are and what their definition of home is to them, and I am lucky enough to get to hear those stories.”
